I am familiar with American bottom brackets and also the outboard bearing BB but not the Euro BB that come on the 2008 OM Flyer. What tool(s) do I need to remove that BB of a 2008 OM flyer?

There are several types of tools for Euro BBs. If someone doesn't chime in from personal knowledge, you can look at the tools available on the Park Tool web site. If still in doubt, you can email a picture of the BB (with crank arm removed) to Park Tool and they will tell you the tool you need.

Thanks for the tip on Park.

I don't know what brand of bb is in your OM, but I have a euro Odyssey bb in my Kappa. With the Odyssey bb, I can put it in and take it out with a good sized crescent wrench, it's got two flat plains on the outside.

You need a tool designed for that bb. It's a common tool at most bike shops. You might just want to bring it to your lbs. They can probably take it out for you in minutes.

I just removed the BB from my 08 OM FLYER so I could polish it. (pics soon) The BB parts that screw in look much like an "Isis" bottom bracket to me. If you don't plan on doing this often, the LBS sounds like the way to go. I bought my OM from Ed at Planet BMX here in Jax, FL. He's been very helpful and helped out with the bottom bracket. I noticed some metal flakes stuck in the grease once I removed it. I think they may have been shavings from the aluminum frame. After a thorough cleaning and re-grease, I didn't use any tools to re-install the bb. They screwed in very easy and everything spins easier than before. LMK how it works out.

Oh yeah, I came across a deal on some Saint cranks that I could not turn down - I'm just trying to decide on what chainring size to go with and I'll install them. I had an old black Thomson seatpost laying around so I put that on, some pretty wide (2.2?) holyrollers and a pair of black SE grips - it is gonna look killer with the black saints installed. Wish I could work out how to post a pic...

I definitely want to see it with the new cranks. If you can't upload the pic directly use photobucket and paste the link here.

Well, I put the Stains on the OM Flyer and they just did not look right- all that old school style with the candy red frame and fork, gold and chrome parts and then the new school black cranks. Anyway I should have at least snapped a pic but I forgot until after I had put them on this: http://s638.photobucket.com/albums/uu106/n...pg&newest=1

I'll have to save up for some JC cranks for the OM.

Did SE change from the Euro BB to the American BB in 09? I bought a 09 this week (has not come into the LBS yet) and looking on the SE site it list a Ameican BB.

Details?

I picked up another pair of saints and put them on the OM. These ones are 180mm.
