Not sure about the year, but she's sexy! One of those frames that I've only seen one in real life and it was the same color.

1980 or 1981, post a pic showing the thickness of the headtube tubing.

I bought a GJS frame and fork late summer 1980 (worst thing I ever did was trade it for a Patterson), this is a photo of it from 1981, I dont think there were any frame options at the time, just one I recall, might be hard to see details in this photo, let me know if you want a high resolution

Definitely have to go with '81.
Small second gusset is 80/81 model. The "1" as first digit in SN leads me to suggest 1981. But, Greg has noted the flared head tube (I think I see that flare), and there's some definite timeline to that if I've read some of his posts correctly.
