And what came original on my '84 mongoose Californian?
When this bike was given to me, it came with the Lee Chi lever, and calipers just say MX1000. Not sure if they are Dia Comp or Lee Chi.

Thanks for any insight,

David

yea they they are very different when you take a closer look at the build.
DCs are way nicer.

As far as knock-offs went the Lee-Chees were pretty good as were Chang Star but generally they would not last very long or come loose al the time.

The Californian would have the Lee Chee calipers (front and back) - probably the ones without the black 'wheel' adjusters.
