Seems to me that they were mostly a 'west coast' brand. I remember the Bandito Silver Cup races and there were a lot of Nor-Cal riders on them for a couple of years. Is there much interest in them in the Old School world?

I never knew anyone who had one, but I remember their ads in all the bmx mags.

I know Stidds has one, he told me he had been questing for one for some time, so yeah I think there's some interest.

I mean....I wouldn't search high and low for one...but if I saw one on CL or a tag sale, I would pick it up for sure.

I used to ride for them back in 83-84 Along with John Hancock. They were very unique and pretty cool back in the day.

Matt Hadan rode for them as well BITD. I saw them quite a bit out west. Navajo and Astron were some other brands out around the same time that you would see at the races.

did they have the extra drop outs on the forks and frame? Scott

I got a good look at the frame - it had the dual drop outs. I can't say for sure about the forks. It was chrome.
I rode for Navajo for about 6 months. They paid for a few nationals - but I had to get myself there. They seemed pretty low budget. When I told them I didn't care for their geometry much, they sent me a Cro-Mo Race Inc. with Navajo stickers on it. LOL!

yes most banditos did come with dual drop out front and rear as for mine supposedly being the 2nd one ever it has single drop outs front and rear
truly odd

some of their frames (not all of them) had double drop outs...as well as their forks. they made some cool handlebars too, with a double crossbar (they look kinda like hutch ladder bars...but the lower bar was square).
my buddy was a factory bandito rider too (82-83ish). his name is mucho jones....i'll see if i can get him to drop some knowledge.
