Maybe I'm behind the times but I found this pic awhile back and thought I'd share it. It sort of reminds me of when I was 10 or 11 years old and me and some friends were walking through the woods. We came across this pile of bikes. In all it was probably about 25 or so and a few were pretty nice. No good brands really but some were almost brand new. We each picked one and took it home. I picked out a Huffy Sigma. It was grey and had these white wheel covers on it. Of course that didn't last long when my mom asked me where I got the bike from. I couldn't come up with a good story and ended up telling her that we found a pile of bikes in the woods. She promptly called the cops and they came and got my new bike as well as all the others from the woods. It's probably safe to assume they were all stolen.

Anyway, here's the pic:

EDIT: I found a pic of the Sigma...

Upon closer inspection, I think it unlikely you would find much. Looks mostly like low end scrap metal to me.

I really doubt they are stolen; who & why would you steal this many bikes? It could be bikes rescued from the garbage and then pieced together to make ride-able; perhaps then donate to kids who can't afford to buy a new bike. We had a local guy "the bike king" that did this type of thing; local shops would donate used crappy bikes that they took in on trade, and he would fix them up for needy kids. I would never call the Bike King "pathetic" .

I doubt they are stolen as well. Who would steal so many bikes and then store them in such a manner that they were viewable from space? Something is going on here beyond obsessive compulsive disorder. - Wait, I take that back.

"viewable from space" that's classic. laugh.gif

at least there's no lawn to mow.
