I have come upon a 80 or 81 Cycle Pro Bonzai, new in the box, never been built. It has Araya rims on it how do I identify which model rim it is?

It was a donation that's going on ebay soon to raise money for the NYS Pro/Am series and I want to have all the parts properly identified.

Here's a pic

Look like 7x's.

That's what I thought. But wasn't sure. Thanks
Volcano

wow - nice score man - you gotta open that box up and show us the pictures.

The Bonzai had some nice stuff - ShotGun seat, Maxy Cross cranks etc - nice Snakebellys too!

It is mint. I pulled it out of the box last night to check everything over. There is no rust, scratches or dryrot on the tires. You could put it together and race it today. I repackaged it with some better packaging materials to keep it mint and it will be up on ebay probably this weekend. I'm just trying to do some more research on it so I can ask a fair price.
If you look at the pic that I posted you will see some marks (darker circles) on the rim. I looked it over and it appears to be some type of assembly lube and cleans right off.

I would appreciate it if someone could at least identify the year. The serial # is T2C0801

Wow... that is amazing. huh.gif

That is awesome!

I think you should start another thread - 'rim ID' is not a good title - people need to see this!

Yea probably a good idea. It was originally for the stated purpose. But as usual things have wandered off topic blink.gif smile.gif
vonmark01
is it listed yet?
Sneakerpimp
It is a Tange made Cycle Pro.
T2C0801 = Tange 1982 March No. 801

Hope that helps.

It certainly does. I just want to make sure I have the correct info when it goes on ebay. Thanks

The bike is beyond cool. I especially adore the blue skinwall snakebelly tires.

Do you think you'll list it complete or split it up ?

I'd love a punt at those snakebellies angel.png

Don't forget to drop an ebay link in this thread when she goes up smile.gif

I listed it as complete last night. The link is in the auction section

If that was spilt up it would get good money for each part, however it would suck to part it out.

Yea it was suggested that parting it out would get more money. But I just couldn't bring myself to do that.
