Hi, I'm new to the forum - I have just bought a Raleigh R7000 Bmx from ebay to 'hopefully' restore does anybody out there have any images/info. or advice on this bike/project. I can't find anything on the net that relates to this bike.

Cheers

Warren.

from the raleigh 1984 catalog. the "FS" model is pictured. the "SL" model was the scaled down version with 1 3/8" wheels.

Thanks for that Mr c. This gives me something to go on - the model I have bought is apparently the Cruiser - it will be delivered sometime this week. I have a feeling i'm gonna struggle to stay true to the original!! By the way this will be my first venture into restoration.

Any idea if many of these were produced?

probably lots. Raleigh, in general, was a huge company back then.

I rode for Raleigh in the mid 80's. One year they supplied me with one of these frames. I don't know how many were produced but I don't recall seeing many of them. The black chrome finish was way cool back then. Mine had a hint of bronze in the finish. I have one picture of me on this bike but no way to scan it. That brochure pic should help you a bunch.
