This is my first non ebay non Interwebs score.
A guy who works at the parking lot near my job saw me with my Torker frame and told me he had an aluminum frame to show me. I figured he'd bring some ugly late 90's frame that I wouldn't have any interest in but he finally(after 4 months) showed up with this! It was covered in silver and turquoise spray bomb paint and masking tape! I managed to get most of it off and it doesn't have one crack in it. It's not a show bike by any stretch but it'll be a good rider! I always wanted one of these when I was a kid.
Can anyone help me with the date??? I hear the serial #'s are screwy with these.
Thanks

Own it, hug it, love it, respect it.
You already know you happened upon a rare item so lay low, ask some questions and the info will arrive. Don't be in a hurry and keep ahold of it. This is a great site and if you have a question about vintage BMX, it'll get answered.

being a looptail, I would say it is an early 80's model. Specific year not sure. But that is one heck of a find my friend.

Frame 80-84 Landing Gear Also 80-84 as for it not being a show bike it has the potential to be anything you want it tobe all it takes is alittle time. I have seen bikes with there frames all broken, cracked and even missing Parts(Right Mr Hays) and after some time and work be not only show bikes but show winners! You have a great stating piont with a PK with no cracks or rewelds as far as it being a rider that a really cool rider. Let me know if you need any help with this that I can give you. Killer Score IMO

Thanks so much for the feedback fellas.
He had it stored on top of one of those car lifts and as he brought it down I saw the SE badge and I almost had a heart attack! It was a good day!

Nice find. Like Mark said, 79-84. No way to pin it down. The serial numbers on PK's meant NOTHING. There were chronological serial numbers starting with PK stamped into dropouts and thrown in a box. They pulled the dropouts out randomly and welded them on as a frame was being built.
