Yep! Camping is good, but do a tent! Waking up Sunday morning at 7:00AM after being up until 3:00 to the sound of the starting gate slamming down and the announcer calling the race between Darryl Young and Eric Rupe was a real dreamlike moment. I was up and pumped for the rest of the day. (Eric won).
The tent scene is way too cool.

You can camp far away from the track so you can have a nice and somewhat quite time too.

no seriously I even have a seperate bed for my bikes since the popup has that option LOL. I would want to be a little distance away but not to far maybe past the port-a-potties about 100 yards near the tree line near the road.

I prefer to sleep in the captain's chair of a motor home stuck in the mud in the middle of the museum.

ED asking if i can hang? I am a avid tent camper the only thing i am not good at is starting a fire with no lighter or matches. I think Ashley is going to lay the kabosh on this idea for me she is a comfy bed person who enjoys her complimentary breakfast

One thing I mentioned in another thread, but wanted to mention here as well:
The space you have reserved for your bikes is ONLY for displaying your bikes. It does not convey any rights or dibs on parking or camping on the outskirts of the Vintage Area. That space is, and always has been/will be, under the control of Rockford BMX and the Track Operators, Jake & Candy Karau. If you happen to get there in time to get a parking spot that backs up to your display space, well done...but just because you have the display space does not give rights to the adjacent parking ringing the Vintage area.
It is, by and large, assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, but they have requested that, if you are bringing a motorhome, coach or camper this year, that you check in with Jake when you arrive at the track, BEFORE setting down stakes.
We are extremely grateful to Jake & Candy for their hospitality, and I want to be sure that we do not do anything to make their already-busy National week more hectic than it already is. Please be courteous and deferential to them, and all track workers/volunteers while you're there...and remember that we are guests in this place they call home.
Best,
M
