Hi Guys,

In the middle of buying parts for a Street beat build and have come to the crank and am unsure which way to go???

Not to up to speed on these things!!!!

The bike will mainly be a poser/cruiser with some 'very' light park use, the bike that I never had and can now afford to build.

So which/what sort of crank should I go for, do I need a 3 piece or is a one piece more period correct?

Help me out guys so I can move forward with this build!!!

Thanks

Jo

I'd go one piece.

Either is period correct, depending on make and model. Complete SB's came with a one-piece, as a complete bike. So yeah, for a SB intended for light use, I'd save some bucks and do the one-piece, too. No shame in using one-piece. Tioga, Sugino, Odyssey, whatever; though I personally like SR...

I seen more Street Beats with One Piece. The Team rode Flights though.

I'm also building an 85 Street Beat and am going with a 1 piece set of SR Turbox. These cranks came stock on 86's but a friend had these cranks on his 85 Street Beat BITD.

Do you have any pictures to post?
