Looking to replace the crank sprocket on my haro sport retro, for a more retro appearing sprocket.

Bike as 3 piece haro crank that came stock when purchased.

I will be adding white; tires, grips, seat, cables, chain and seat clamp.

Which is recommended and where can i buy one.
Also which gearing ( tooth count) should i buy.

thanks

Unless you also change the rear gear, stay with the same tooth on the new sprocket.

Adapters may work on the older spider/chainring combos, I'm not sure. But Dan's Comp, and other such mail-order/internet shops have some sprockets that have a kind of retro look to them, and they come in all the anodized colors.
The R
Redline makes some cool retro looking stuff. You can get a CD-style chainwheel, and the Proline chainwheel looks like the old Flight chainwheel. If you're worried about a Redline logo on a Haro bike, you might be able to clean the logo off the CD chainwheel, but you're out of luck on the proline sprocket (it's engraved, but it's not too big).

Also, you can't go wrong with a spider-chainring combo. I like Crupi, but other companies also have good options.

that is wrong information- you can use a three piece sprocket on your sport as it is. from experience you can use the old haro power disk, and the FST spider too. The bike already has a "hat" adapter on it for that small crappy sprocket. you can use a hammer and hit it into the middle of the new sprocket (disk) with no effort at all. its a tight fit and almost like it was meant to work together with the old school products. 44T should work just fine or you can go with the original old school 43 T haro directional gear to make it really look nice!

as for the freewheel thats REALLY wrong information- No need to change that either. for one what would you change it to and make a differnece for the front? 17 or 18T wink.gif it should be a 16T freewheel on that bike. that will work just fine for what you are using it for UNLESS youre racing it and changing the gearing out every two races! (i think not) the one and only problem you are going to have is you will need a new chain because of the larger diameter front sprocket. easy fix!

check out my bikes on bmxmuseum under the same screen name for my retro sports. you will see what i mean.

hope this gets your project underway the CORRECTLY !!

here is the last one i did
