Hi Guys! I've been getting a lot a calls about a finalizing a date for Show 'N' Shine 09.
There are many who make the trip from interstate to be at the Qld BMX BBQ in Brisbane and I would like to talk about possible dates so that people can mark their calendar early for this annual event.
I'm hoping to hold the BBQ in June, the weather here is perfect at this time and the tree still has most of it's shade for people to enjoy.
I like the idea of a Sunday as fewer people have to work Sundays. There is a three day weekend in June that maybe an advantage to some and a problem for others.
I would like to hear some feedback on setting an official date in June for Show 'N' Shine 09.

Thanks Roberto.

Long weekend in June sounds great Roberto! Long weekends in Brisbane are a nightmare to go to the coast, because that's what everyone else is doing! So I think it would be a great opportunity to let the guys down south to travel up!
I might even have the Hutch ready by then!

Apparently the Wintersun festival (Australia's Leading Rock & Roll Nostalgia Retro Event) is on between 29th May to 8th June 2009 in Coolangatta and Tweed Heads on the New South Wales & Queensland border. I will be at this event so better scratch Sunday the 7th of June.

I am not fussed what the date is 'cause I'll be there whatever. My fav weekend of the year!
I'm happy to work around whatever is good for others with schedules.

Count me in as well. School holidays don't affect me either so I'm cool with any date in June.

Thanks, Glenn!
Last year we didn't have the bunny-hop comp or wheely-thon becuase I thought everybody had been there and done that, but Tobe was a bit dissaponted and I realised that the kids look forward to that part of the day because they get to ride around with their dads and participate.
I want to do the bunny-hop comp and wheely-thon again, not so much a comp but more of an activity for everyone to enjoy. I'm not sure if J.C is able to make it this year as he supplied the bunny hop setup for the first BBQ.
Perhaps Glenn you could bring down the bunny hop setup if J.C cant make it.
Would be great to get people riding, I'll have at least 3 bikes that everyone can borrow for a cruise.
There will be plenty more shade this year with the new 11 metre carport. All the bikes can display in the sun and people can mingle in the shade.
I expect a swap meet as usual, I heard a few deals were done last year.
I'm sure Mic Rynn would like to view peoples sticker collections too, for the sake of archiving artwork. I'll have mine ready for you mic.
Am also working on live music this year to keep the ladies entertained, James Hart can entertain the single ones with his own brand of R & B ..... Rhythm and Bicycles.
I'll supply the snags and a few steaks, plus some treats and drinks to keep the punters going.
As per last year, you bring your own lobster and we''ll cook it for you.
There's a few things to think about.

Let's not confuse a BBQ with the fellas as a sausage fest

, ladies are welcome too.
Even if it rains or the weather is crook, we got plenty of emergency cover this year.
If we print shirts, who here thinks they might want one?
