After seeing the Wilkerson video of him doing a cherry picker wasn't there a how-to by Martin Aparijo on doing a Cherry Picker as he invented it. Thought that was in BMX Plus early 1985, that would be cool to see. Ron's was cool spinning and then getting out of it into the poser position.

What a cool trick and always a crowd favorite.

Yeah, I've got a how-to of Martin and the 'picker in Super BMX Freestyle American Action or whatever. I should try and get familiar (read: plug-in) with my two month old new scanner this weekend. We'll see.

I remember a photo of him and Itson having a cherrypicker chicken fight. Man that is a classic. Wish I still had it.

Heres a how-to from BMX Plus April 1986. I'll post that chicken fight picture when I find it.

I took me soooo long to learn this trick. I tried one last year for the first time in about 15 years and I actually rode in and out in about 10 tries. The hopping part was pretty sloppy and I didn't exactly do it no handed or anything, but I was psyched that I could still do it. I still have my original copy of BMX Plus's Freestyle's Raddest tricks Part 1 on Beta. One of these days I'll transfer it to dvd.

Would LOVE to see that chicken fight pic again. Two of my favorite riders and the bikes are beautiful.

I spent most of winter 1987 either playing Super Mario Bros. or practicing Cherrypickers in my basement, leaning up against a pole. Totally worked on getting the balance and hopping down, nice and smooth. Now, riding in and out of it smoothly... damn that was some serious practice time there, and I could never get in or out of that trick (especially out) as smoothly as I could hop and pose while up there!

Soo fun. I need to attempt them again.
