AWESOME! What time? I hope it's in the evening, I have to work on Saturdays during the day. If it's in the evening I'll definitely be there.

My two favorite things, art and bikes.

I looked on the Queens Museum's website and I can't find any information.

Hope good video footage will make it to the net!

Yes please tape it for those of us on the "other coast" that cannot make it!

The day after my birthday smile.gif It`s a thought in my head to fly up for this.

It was so cool to hang out and ride with John, tons of energy, innovative, positive, and totally gnarly on and off the bike! It was great to catch up with him at the 2002 Vegas Freestyle reunion and he's doin' really good!

Have to bust out some never before seen footage of DIZZ so hear ya go!!!

SEE DIZZ RIDE!!!

Would love to see him do some tricks on my "Luggage rack" CW

I might have to make the trip up to the city. I better rebuild my coaster hub!
TravisW
Awesome! This had better be videotaped.
melvinsarmy
I got the day off! I'll be there for sure! cool.gif

Lou come up!

I looked on the Queens Museum's website to see what their photo/video policy was. Many galleries and musuems don't let you take photos or videos. I only found something saying you can't use flash photography if you have an event there. I guess I'll call them and see if I can find out if I can bring the video camera.
MikeCarruth
Make sure you tell him I say "Hey!"

I definately can`t go. Because my older daughter is in Canada there will be nobody home to help my wife with the baby. I tried talking my wife into going but I know I couldn`t handle a trip that long with my baby. Get some pics and videos.
HimJill
This is just sick! Now I am psyched for this weekend.
gnarlyman

last night was insane, the first person I bumped into walking into the bike area was Dizz behind the half pipe getting his vinatage CW gear on. Dizz is just as crazy as bitd. Great job to Ryan who is the artist that put everything together this was more than just a bike jam. He had a huge wall display of vintage rides, and some of his artwork on the wall which was BMX related, I am sure the pics will be up soon and Ryan will let us know where to see the video.

Dizz is the rider in the black Metallica shirt with a black helmet and black bike. I'm sure you'll be able to figure out which one he is after his first time on the kick ramp. Sorry for the grainy/blocky quality, the compression to get this video on youtube kinda killed it, but you can at least get a taste:

That was a strange set up of ramps for sure.. What can you do with those weird ones in the middle,, nobody even used them.... Dizz in action.... It would be better to see some still shots of that stokeness..

Those pics on this thread are pure sickness.....

Since no one posted up pics yet - Here ya go smile.gif

-----------

I Went. it was such an awesome Event...
the Art show was impressive and some of it was inspiring.

It was great to see the setting of the Worlds Fair in Queens too. i'd never been there before.

The OS Bike display was pretty impressive.

Here are some pics I took of DIZZ HICKS.
(still rocking the Metallica Shirt / and CW Leathers)

Here's another awesome rider that was ripping up the ramps on a newer bike.

--------------------

There was also a funny contraption put together by the host Ryan Humphreys.
a "Duchamp-esque" Found Object... adapted to the BMX theme.

A simple Stool - set up with a fork, pegs wheel, and brakes.

I took it for a spin... or tried to... it was pretty hard to maneuver.
(thanks to Guav and Smoovebert for the encouragement smile.gif )

Overall it was an AWESOME event.
and I'm really happy I went. smile.gif

Bump alert, I am trying to get the show down to MIA for Art Basel, anyone want to help me?
