looking for advice on when you need to replace decals
of coarse if they arent replacable you cant .
but i made a mistake and stripped a 79 magmum of all decals (yeah i know now).
but there aRE SOME BIKES WITH NICE OS REPOPS OUT there .
like mongoose ,cw,race inc., gt,
personaly leave em if i can .
my gjs . new downtube decal but origonal head tube and us. flag on top tube.
but my phase has crappy decals but they are all there
i dont know what to do

My opinion..............

It all sort of depends on what you are planning to do with the bike.

If youre going to build it into a show bike with all NOS goodies then the decals should be replaced

If the bike is a nice, clean survivor and you are gonna keep it that way dont replace the decals

If your refinishing the frame of course decal replacement is needed

Only time "I" wouldnt replace decals is if the repros sucked or there werent any nos ones available.

Im to picky to look at a museum piece to have scratched or chewed up stickers.

There was someone looking for a CW decal for a long time. don't recall what model was so hard to find the decal for now.

i was going to strip my Kuwa Kz-1 survivor, but luckily i picked up a couple sets of decals first.
Not one of them was close enough to the decals on my bike to warrant the switch.
so i just left the beat up survivor decals, but it's no show piece so i didn't care since i'm the one that beat those decals over the years anyway.
