I think PMC is Phoenix Machine Company or something like that. They made good stuff. I think they were originally an aerospace subcontractor who started making parts during Clinton's slashed defense budgets. They had cool cranks and chain tensioners, but I don't remember the hubs? Post pics if you can.

The hubs are so so..... The main problem is with the spacers. They're press fit against the bearings. Normal wear tended to crush the spacers, into the bearings, causing excessive rotational friction. I had suggested a simple locking tap screw, that would have easily solved the problem, but it was never accepted. Worked for them back in the day before they crashed.

I still use their seat clamps, I think it was the best thing they made.

I rebuilt a set for some time back. If I rember correctly the collars are pressed on. I just cut preload spacers fro 3/8 alu tubing stock from home depoit. I do this to all my hubswith straight axles[like the spacer on profile cranks]. I don;t think I had to bore those out . The DK hubs the center are too small and I drill them out to clear the spacer. Just cut the right preload and tighten the collars down tight bang the axles against the work bench and smoth rolling hubs. Very easy fix.

So PMC is not around any more or they just do not make bike parts?

Yes, they were a high end machine shop BITD. Their stuff was really flashy and the quality was off the hook. We still have a set of the hubs but as one of the others said they seem to have severe bearing problems. They look great though like everything else they made and a new set of 2009 bearings might just do the trick.
We change out bearings on hubs we buy on ebay all the time with great success.
All the Best!

Anyone out there have a complete set of shorter (160mm-170mm) PMC cranks they need to get rid of?
