What price range? Hardtail or FS?

go with a smaller size than usual- if you ride a 15" usually, go with a 13" for this.

Me at 6"0" and 198lbs built a 17" w/ 85mm fork travel.

Frame is a IronHorse Yakuza Bakuto 135mm rear axle, Marzocchi altered travel fork 9mm axle, ODI Ruffians, Azonic Ultra-Cross, w/ FSA DH300 stem, FSA The Pig 1.5(reduced) headset, Hayes Carbon 9, 7"F 6"R, Shimano XT Shadow RD, Deore shifter, 12-26 Ultegra Cassette, SRAM PC991 chain, Shimano XT loose ball hubs, Sun Ringle S-Type Rim, 2.35 MAXXIS Minions 1F and 1R w/ tubes, Selle Italia saddle, FSA FR270 seatpost, FSA Carbon Pro 175mm, e.thirteen 38t DH CR, e.thirteen SRS, AXIOM Road Gap platform.

Can be lighter, but emphasis is quick response and nimble balance.

Cleaned-up my race bike, new fork, gears, chainguide, pedals, saddle and stem. First ride was at Silver City BMX in Meridan CT. Had not been there in 21 Years.

Thank you. Dunno where you travel to for racing, but as I had not been on a BMX track in 20 years, I had a blast sorting this build back home in Connecticut. The track I raced at in Meridan when I was 14-16 has changed so much, and an old friend of ours from BMXA days started a track in Torrington which is NBL National experienced. That track is rad.
Thanks again!

Black Market complete (mine started as just a frame). I love the way this handles, super short backend. If I could keep only one bike, it would be this.

Nice. Before altering the geometry like I had to my Iron Horse, I figured the best accelerating bike would have the shortest chain-stays, and be really aggressive. After riding a Black Market it was just too small. Uncontrolable for my size, but this Yakuza Bakuto and Yakuza Chimpira frame(s) like being snubbed-out and set for racing.
What'd ya do, take off the front brake for dirt jumps?

Nice Iron Horse, I used a GT XCR-4000 when I raced DS. I had a 600 lb spring on the shock and with the i-drive I had no problems getting up to speed and had a little suspension for the tracks that were built into downhill tracks, if you know what I mean. I'll try to post a pic.

I think Mountain Cycle, Intense and Foes all made hardtail Haro Monocoque-like dual slalom frames in the past. They are hard to find but they are great looking bikes.

As stated above, go with a smaller size. True dual slalom frames are hard to come by as it is a bit of a niche market in the MTB world. Now, the DS and DJ bikes are being lumped into the same catagory. Most (especially newer) of the DS specific frames come with cool features as well; slack seat tube angles, BMX style dropouts, multiple mounting points for for brakes so you can swith between 24 and 26 inch rear wheels.

Good luck with the search.

I had an Iron Horse Yakuza Chimpira complete that I bought from Performance. It was a fun bike. I'm 5'8" & I got the 15" frame.
