I wasn't sure what forum this should go in (if it needs to be moved by all means feel free to move it mods) but I wanted to help out my fellow V-BMX brethern...
This is not my auction and I have no connection to it. I wanted to pass along a great deal when I found it. If anyone is looking for a new SE racing retro frame this seller on ebay is selling 08 PKs and 08 Quads for 250 for the pair!!! I messenged her and verified that it was indeed both frames for $250 and she replied with,
"its 250.00 and you get 2 frames. Maybe thats why I haven't sold any. Is the listing not clear? How would it be more clear do you think?
Thanks!
Tammi"
Seems like a great deal to me!!! Even though I cannot afford it right now I am thinking about picking them up anyways.
While this is my first post here I have been lurking for years. (as you can see by my join date) I have been into BMX for years... HI!

Your welcome. I was trying to figure what I should post for my 1st post but after finding this deal I just had to post it. I wasn't sure where to post as it isn't my auction I didn't think it would belong in the for sale forum. I figured I would just post it where I knew peopel would appreciate it!

Yeah she seemed like a really nice person. If I had the cash, which I don't, I would more than likely pick up a quad and a PK. Even if it was just to have them sit in the box till I could afford to build them.

You know my first impulse was to rip on the newb for posting an ebay auction in the freestyle forum for bikes that 1. aren't freestyle and 2. aren't old school.
I figured I'd be a hypocrite though since I just hit the BIN. It's an investment thing. They'll be wall art for a while. Who knows though. Maybe I'll build one in time.
So I thank you sonikk71 for providing me with sound financial advice...
better than my financial planner has been in a while. That's for sure.
Now I'll take an iced cinammon chai. The newbs haven't been getting the coffee lately. What's up with that?

Well thank you for the mercy, I posted it here because...
#1 How dare you call a Quad or a PK "not freestyle"!!!?!?! They were freestyle before there was freestyle! Come on Buff rode both of those frames back in the day. Matt Hoffman in between his Haro and hoffman bikes days was ridding a PK and has stated he loved it except he couldn't keep from breaking them. So while both frames are technically race frames I feel that due their roots in freestyle before we had freestyle frames they get a pass.
#2 The For Sale forum has a sticky stating that ebay posts do not belong in there.
#3 Seeing as the first place I would have posted ( the for sale forum) was not allowed I figured I would post it in the forum I like here the best and in a place where people would appreciate it. ( that and see point #1)
And oh yeah Pauly...check my join date, I aint no newb! I just didn't want to post and catch flack from some uptight old fart freestyler!

Seriously though having lurked here quite some time I have watched the forums evolve. I think some of the "regulars" have been a little harsh lately. Remember that BMX is about fun, friendship and mostly riding our bikes!
I got your Chai right here!

They have to make a price on bikes now.. I mean,, jeepers, it's the point where bike shops can hardly give frames away at this point... Unless it's Mirraco...

I hear ya but man the thought of one of those new black PKs with a set of the new cassette graphites on it? Whhhooooweee! I seriously need to stay off this site it is gonna be the death of my wallet!

The only defense I have to say no to this deal is to keep telling myself "Look at that seatmast junction! that is not a PK!" or "what no integrated headset?!" but it is getting harder...

when are these companies going to notice that giving a frame away cheap is like giving the first rock to crackhead. it's all the extras that get you tied into the big bucks.

sounds like a good deal above.

I too consider the OG SE frames some of the 1st freestylers, I love that pic of Stu flying out of the bowl on his STR-1...

Me too! Like I said earlier in this post both of those frames were ridden by Buff (Matt Hoffman rode a PK) among other freestylers. When both of those frames where in their heyday we didn't have freestyle frames so in my mind they are just as much freestyle frames as they are race frames.

My two piles of boxes are almost complete. LOL! I was a little iffy on the Quads color at first too but it's definetly grown on me. I do plan on having some fun with the build and havn't seen many that stray too far from the brown and gold or brown and baby blue theme. I'm going to inject a healthy dose of purple/lavender into mine just for 80's sake!My wife has taken a shine to the purple stuff and already claimed the Quad as hers.

Sweet! I wish my wife would get into BMXwith me. I have tried. I have offered to build her a bike out of a couple of the mid skool frames I have sitting around and she isn't against BMX but she isn't really into it either.

Please note the reply to Pauly was tongue in cheek in tone (although I feel the points are true) and I meant no disrespect to him or you. In fact I have huge amounts of respect for the work I have seen you do on a couple of the frames posted here. (The JMC with the blown through re-weld that you fixed comes to mind)
