I'm guessing this is vintage mtb related as its anno purple....lol. I have had it in my parts draw for ages and never thought to ask. It looks like its an adaptor to make a double ring a triple ring?? Was it made for some particular type of cranks or brand of cranks?? Help me solve this mystery please! smile.gif

mr coasterbrake
that's exactly what it is. early-ish '90s thing.

depending on what the bold circles are, it may actually be to convert a triple to a quad (those were pretty rare, though).

Hey, thanks Mr. CB.

I'm going to look at it closer. I think this may be for a quad. I just need to check it against a crank set..

Cheers

Thank you gentlemen! smile.gif

I think it is an Avid microadapter. I have one just like, even the same color.

Yep, I just found mine. It is an Avid microadapter. It pre-dates the Sram aquisition by a bunch...It was for a quad front ring. To use it you needed an in-line switch to allow the shifter to make it work. Pretty weird.

I used it for a triple Topline cranks that only allowed a 26T small ring. This thing allow a 22T. If someone is in need of it I could be coerced to part with it biggrin.gif I've got a bunch of old MTB parts that I need to sell...
