Pressure Washer - the cheap ones you can get at Home Depot work great.
You can also take them to a car wash. This removes shaker can spray paint easily, most of the times the mags were painted dirty, so it's easy.

That's not a bad idea...
Yeah, you don't want to use any harsh chemicals, lest you melt the plastic.
I'd follow the washer up with a light session in the bead blaster. Then a good hand cleaning with a "magic eraser" and a WD-40 treatment.

thanks for the replys!
but i really dont want to spend more than around 20 bucks
how much do you reckon pressure washers are?
and bead blasters are the sand blasting kinda things right? except with beads?
and since i live in perth australia everything is really expensive so i think the bead blaster will be alot
i emailed a shop asking how much sand blasting will be just for a frame and they said $150...
so does anybody know of some weak chemicals or something cheap that would work?
thanks guys

try it.you'll only be out a couple $.
instead of beadblasting, use SOS pads or brillo pads to finish them up
the way your mags were painted might not be the same as other peoples.

i've used "zip-strip" dozens of times on Tuffs (and others). never a problem. Zytel is pretty chemical resistant.

Also try ....
Honda motorcycle polish - takes off shaker can spraypaint - I use this all the time on restores.
here is a random link
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-Polis...omotiveQ5fToolsI use stuff on my sportbikes and was blown away with how well it cleaned off sticker residue/tar/gunk etc. I tried it on some dirty mags that looked toasted - this stuff will clean and shine very well. A microfiber cloth is the best because it picks up the dirt and stuff locking it into the fibers for a brilliant shine.
oh ...and welcome to the site!

Selley's paint stripper in a can has worked for me....then bead blast them (glass beads - the finest u can find)...they come up a treat!
