Is this weird? Do any of you collect stickers?

First off, I do not collect stickers on purpose. It is just one of those things that just happens. They are too cool to throw away, but I don't really have anything to put them on, so I have made a habit of sticking them in a shoe box over the years. I'm not sure when I began doing this, but based on the type of stickers, I must have started in the late 90's when I was still racing road bikes. I got back into bmx around '01 or so, and most are from after this point; some are over 20 years old. I digress...

Well, I gathered some loose stickers that had accumulated on my counter, so broke out my shoe box to put them away. I took a look in there and thought "Jeez, There is a lot of stickers in here". biggrin.gif Here's what they look like:

Let's see your stickers!

Don't have so much BMX, per se...a lot of surf/skate stickers. The only ones remotely bike related are these:

I use to collect stickers back in the 70's and 80's. These are my bmx stickers, I also have quite a few old automotive stickers as well.

I also have the head tube and seat tube stickers to go on a two wheelers frame

I kind of collect stickers, but not so much bmx stickers. Band stickers and stuff. I've got a ton of radio controlled car stickers. Then one day this summer I found a bunch of old school bmx stickers at the local bike shop and my bmx sticker collection was started:

Mike Rodrigues CRIT PLATE
Hey Guys,

If anybody is looking for a source to make real old school stickers then you should go to the source...

Bob Dillie has made stickers for most all BMX companies and products back in the day.

He use to make my plate decals for all of my Crit Reversible Number Plates up until I started injection molding the plates.
He did continue to make all of my decals including Rub-Ons up till 1995 when I closed up shop.

Here is his website

Tell him Mike Rodrigues Crit Plate from Rhode Island sent you!

Whew, what a relief I am not the only one biggrin.gif

It seems some of you take this pretty seriously!

Woody, I assume those are all OG...I bet you have a pretty good chunk o' change on that table if you decided to sell them.
VADER
Ok, dibs on ....... smile.gif just kidding

Actually I do need a blue small size Haro w/stripes rub on, and yellow A'ME bubble font rub on.
freestyl
Yeah, my stickers are all OG. Funny how quickly how fast they pile up. When I was a kid I use to ride my bike every where. Me and my buddies would stop by every gas station or auto parts store we could find on the way home from our rides and ask if they had any "free" stickers... Some days we came home with nothing and other days a whole hand full. In one of the pictures, there is a couch on the left side of the room full of automotive stickers. I never thought of them being worth anything though, just lots of fun memories. Not sure how I ended up with so many BMX stickers though? Anyhow, don't know about the Haro sticker, but I have a ton of AME stickers if you need one. Every size, every color.
RIDE A BIKE
I did the same thing but I put all my sticks on my tool box's sun_bespectacled.gif Hey what happend to the company Stick EM UP??????

A picture of the Sticker display case from my local bike shop, BITD this display case was full of BMX Stickers, The Guy who Owned the Shop, would get a New Shipment of Stickers Once or twice a month, we would buy em up, and drool over the one's we didn't have the money to buy, when I found this at his shop back in July it had about 15 Bill Walters leathers stickers left in it,

I would be interested in picking up some Haro and Oakley stickers if anyone has any. White black grey and or blue for the Haro.
VADER
Freestyln, if you really are willing to part. I need a yellow A'me rub on, prob about 1" by 3", it is just the word, nothing else. I am doing a restore build (my old PR), and it had that decal on it, but now I cant find it anywhere. If you can, that would be great, thanks!!!

I miss those days of going to the bike shop, and picking up a sticker or 2 out of the case. Of course, all I had was a $1 or 2, dont miss that smile.gif I hope I dont start collecting stickers.
