I just bought a bike for $20 at a the Frugal Coyote Thrift shop. It needs work :-)
The logos on the top tube and headbadge are "Team Panache" or Panache.
Decal on seat tube says P. G. Tubes 4130, and Made in Taiwan.
The rear brake caliper (centerpull) is on the chainstay.
Calipers are Lee Chi Jumbo (cast aluminum).
Derailleur is Shimano Altus C10
Serial # is P81548C10, the "C" is backwards. The ends of the curve are sharp so
the character is not a poorly-struck "O" of "0".
The 3-piece crank is marked Tracer.
Shifter is Shimano "light action".
The rear shifter is missing.
The paint is silver and the decals are in good condition, but the cables are sun-damaged to destruction.

I am not sure that this is truly a vintage bike.
Any help with the ID or info on replacing the missing rear shifter would be appreciated.

More research on the derailleurs indicates ~1993 vintage.
Here are photos of the bike and the headbadge.
Is 1993 too young for this forum?
mr coasterbrake
the under-stay U-brake and some other components make me say mid-ish (maybe late)'80s. maybe the derailleurs were replaced at some point.

i used to see the "backward C" in serials at the shop around that time, FWIW.
doubledecade
I think it's a early 90's department store type of bike.
all the parts are low end stuff.
