wanted to take the time and publicly thank mykesbykes here on vintage.
i have been looking for a GT Show for about 6 months and he turned me onto this Show on a classified site.
ended up being one heck of a score. $300
thanks again
mykesbykes ! you are the man !!!!
but i figured i would post it here in the freestyle section.
this is the main style bike i collect....pacman dropout GT/Dyno and Powerlite.
i have new cables, NOS levers and NOS pegs on the way.
as pictured, i already installed my NOS Show forks.
i am still trying to locate NOS grips, NOS seat.
kinda thinking about swapping out the old metal Gyro for a anno blue Gyro GTX-R and some anno blue freestyle pedals.

Get a dremel and some Mothers polish and do the crank arms.
They will look like they are chrome plated.

I'm sorry but the OP's bike looks like a TANK! Seems like an overbuilt 36 lb bike to me, and heavy bikes suck for flatland freestyle! I only have to compare my 35 lb bmx bike to my 25 to 27 lb freestyle modded Hutch Pro!

If the OP can tell me how much his bike weighs, then maybe I'll reconsider!
I've always wanted a GT in my bike collection, and an 86 to 89 World Tour GT Performer would be nice, but I remember as a kid when I tried to bunnyhop a GT it would "kick me over," - like somehow it had some weird bad geometry for me. So I settled and bought an 08 GT Performer, modded with an Olive seat post and 09 GT logo'd seat for $269 before tax! - I'm lovin it but it's a 35 lb TANK! - ANd I gotta mod it to be lighter!
I have 9 bmx bikes, 80's vintage to an 08 GT. And as the years progress the thickness of the rear plate dropout has become so MASSIVE! My 06 Haro Sport remake is so THICK AND OVERBUILT! But I've lovin' it's geometry compared to my 87 Haro Master!

This here GT Show weighs in at just under 28 pounds. And if I wanted to really be a weight weenie, I could shed some pounds off it. If you come to Rockford this year, I'll let you ride this tank.

I designed the decals myself and a first class member here printed them for me. I've been kicking around the idea of redoing them. Improving them. PM me.
