and its on the dirt even! Wow, that's crazy!

Up here in Minne, sometimes (if the weather was bad) the promoter would bring the "rondo classic" jumps and have races at the go cart tracks, bike shop parking lots, etc, but never wooded jumps on the dirt/grass

thats cool!

i used to race at a track in oak forest illinois (at least if memory is correct)

it was in a horse stable. we raced basically on horse poop. they had wood jumps.

it was fun for winter racing since there wasnt much else to choose from

That wooden step-up is Awesome! I have never seen a wooden jump on a track like that before it is so cool... It looks was nice to get over it to...

There are some pictures on the Rhode Island thread from the Main Event/RI Auditorium indoor track from the early 80's.

And then there were the super cool round woops at the New Jersey that Amory in the 80's.

During the winter of 1982 I raced an indoor track in King of Prussia Penn. that had a big wooden step up. They also had a wooden double and a wooden roller. All the jumps were smooth with dirt style transitions. Nothing like the pointy wooden jumps at the normal indoor track. I have some video of the track, I will try to upload some of it to Photo Bucket and try to post it.

They should call that jump the "Face Planter"

there was nothing cool about the round whoops or any jump at the Armory !!!! negative.gif lol

now if my memory works, I think the Howard County indoor had a half part of the track with dirt jumps and the last one or 2 were wood to the finish.

hmmmmm

Cool pic. There was a time I could bunny hop that whole thing.

I used to like when they took the big blue table apart a few feet after the race was over and we jumped the gap. That was cool.

I can still smell the Aqua-Net Hairspray we used to use on the tires at JC Armory. We bought it by the case at K-Mart!
