I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Nomura earlier this year...., but I cannot get any Bottema Forks for love nor money ?

Question:
Should I continue to search for Bottemas ?
or
Leave the Landing Gear on ?
or
Get some Tange TRX Forks (which I think were Factory Rider standard issue?)

Here it is as it stands.....

cool.gif Get the Bottema's IMHO! PM sent.

Here is pic of my 26" with Bottema, the rake of the fork perfect for Nomura frames.

I guess that would depend on what your looking for. Era correct / factory correct or just what you like. I think the LG's look great and that would be my 1st choice, but then I don't care about era or factory correct. I always liked the LG's looks.

"Monkeybucuits",

I haven't seen those forever.

I was wondering what kind of red tires you put on that sweet BMX, and if you know where to get them.

Good luck,

Traveller79

RIDE A BIKE
ohmy.gif Smoken HOT Nomura good3.gif The LG forks look good, bottema's would be ok too but I would put TRX's on for the weight on the bike sun_bespectacled.gif I have a Gold nomura 20'' they ROCK just plain and simple good3.gif

The Tange weigh as much as my Bottema, the difference is hardly noticeable. The Landing Gears look fine.

Personally Bottemas scream Old School BMX!

Anybody have a set of 24" National Pro forks?

Plz LMK!!!

I really like the LG's on there. Tange ARX's may look good too. Not sure it would be era correct, but some Redline tapered forks would look great too.
Dirty
Any of those forks would work...I personally have always loved the look of LGs.

thanks for the replies, cool.gif

Any Nomura owners out there?? What forks are you running huh.gif

RIDE A BIKE
One here good3.gif honestly I don't know what forks are on my Nomura scratch_one-s_head.gif they don't have a hole drilled through them for a front brake they look sort of like TRX but I dont think they are!

Well, I used to be a Nomura owner. Does that count? smile.gif Two of my seven Nomuras (including yours) had Bottemas on them.

I'm not sure why someone would say that LG arent 'correct". Nomura was basically 80-85 so nonstamped LG were perfect for them. I was gonna use Tange TRX too for awhile. There are a set of Bottemas on Ebay RIGHT NOW. I say leave yours as is. Bike looks GREAT.

hey Brian,
sad to hear you have none of your Nomura's now...

yeah, saw those ones on ebay, shame about the terrible £/$ rate at the moment, as it makes them more expensive than I wanted to pay...

I used to race for Nomura, the Standard forks we used were at first the Tange TRX, then we received sponsorship from Bottema Forks, and WOW what a difference! The TRX provided a slightly more stable ride, but was slow in the handling dept. the Bottema's were more responsive and a little stronger. there were riders that bought the landing gears and used them, but those were never used(at least not to my knowledge)on the Nomura Team bikes.

Sweet ride, monkey! Mine's polished with red components too. I have LG because I think the large diameter LG tubes look good with the monster Nomura downtube.
JMCGT
I agree, mine has LG's.. as did alot of Nomura's back in the 80's ..

My buddy was on Factory Nomura (east coast) and rode a red frame with chrome LG.
