Let's get a comprehensive list going of everything created for this community since the hobby started taking root way back in the late 90's.

It's no secret we have a lot of passion for bmx(and buying power) and have seen the rebirth of companies such as GHP, SE Bikes, and Kuwahara to name a few over the past decade. Let's go all the way back to the first bmx collector's magazine... RetroRag, and take it all the way to the recent 2-Hip Pork reissue (which is a stretch, but without question targeted more towards the full grown folks) Good or bad, let's try to get everything on here. From the Azusa's and NoMoreA's, to Industry Pro Class rims, Knight Bike Co. Vbars, and Profile reissues.

How many anniversary kits and completes have we seen? How many bikes fitted with Tuff wheels have crept their way back into the catalogs? How many retro inspired or reproduction frames, parts, and soft goods are out there? Let's stay away from inciting a moral debate over repro items, but rather make it a pictoral study of the impact we've made and the influence we still have to this day on the sport of bmx. I've got a RetroBMX Pro Neck and some Helix Reedy pedals I'll dig up and post soon so Get Crackin'!

A side note on the FBM Exodus decals--they were directly inspired by John Paul Roger's Webco he had as a kid.

Gork and I made those Retro rags. They pre-date any old school websites. If anything they inspired sites like VBMX. Ask Bill C. who founded this site. We originally met when he called me at ABA becuase someone had given him a copy of Retro Rag. Gork and I handed them out at the ABA Grands in OKC. We had the"The Original School Museum" going again that year (started the museum at the Grands in '90). We originally handed out 200 copies of the first printing. The 1st run of 200 have a brown cover. The second run have a blue cover, and the third run has a white cover. We did one more issue after that called Retro Rag2. We did one printing and it's on a white cover.

Shannon - Do you have any scans of the inside pages? I've never been privileged enough to see more than a pic of the cover. I'd love to see the cartoons of the collector types!

I can try to scan a copy tomorrow if someone doesn't beat me to it..funny thing is, the cartoons of the types of collectors are still relevant. All the retro rags need to be scanned and archived here at the site, I think. They are an integral part of the history of the vintage bmx scene, no doubt.

Thanks Jamie H. I might be bias, but I agree on the history part. Retro Rag was the first attempt by collectors to reach other collectors and see if anyone else was out there. Retro Rag often gets over looked on the whole VBMX scene as they were around when most people on this site weren't even thinking about this just yet. Bill C. and I had a chuckle about the RETRO Rag today. He said he couldn't believe it when he got one in his hands. He said he was blown away!!

The collector types are still relevant to this day for sure! LOL!! Even more so now then back then as there are many more collectors.

If you get a chance to skim through one, you'll notice Gork and I posted every single collector we knew of at that time in our lives. There was 16 people posted on a USA map, and Gork and I were two of them. Think about that for a minute, 14 other people, that's IT!

Of course, Kool Caps were mildly influenced by VBMX. lol. cool.gif

But then again, I'd have to say these 25th anniversary Tioga Comp. IIIs in the photo here have to qualify in this thread as well.

Unknown to many of you, in true Skunk-works fashion, I am secretly working on a new VBMX inspired product.

This amazing product will be carefully crafted from the original materials and styling.

To avoid the haters, you will be able to tell them apart from the originals, as the "fruit of the loom fruits'" faces on the tags will be photo chopped and replaced with actual VBMX racers from BITD.

There will be a drawing to determine who's faces will be used, so get your entries in!
