Nice find.

The dates for the BMX pedals are off by a couple years (just to be anal).

It's been brought up before. Cool site but some of the years on the BMX and also the road pedals are all jacked up

Very cool link.

Interesting how some designs never changed in 100 years...

For the record (literally) the first batch of DX pedals hit the shores in the spring of 1981 - Andy Patterson and I got the first couple of pairs they sent over - at the Lumber Jack Nats (at least the box that they sent to GT). I'm not sure if Andy actually used them, he was big on the old KKT's if I remember right. (Andy and I also received the first GT bars and posts at this race - fresh out of the jigs).

I think SX's came in 1982, someone else could probably cover the Hutch year - but I'm thinking 1982.

I received my first DX pedals in June of 81. We were co-sponsored by Shimano then and we picked them up at the warehouse in so-cal.

By Mid-Summer of 81, Andy was already being courted by Skyway for a fulltime ride with them. (Just trivia)

It's kinda funny (not really) but Bev (Raudman) told me that she would pick me up for a Skyway ride if I cut my hair short. I wonder why Denny didn't have to or Andy, but Bob Horne had to.

Maybe you had bad hair? I'm not judging, just sayin'... happy.gif

I think the Lumber Jack Nats were the end of May or first week of June. Andy crashed and hurt his neck while jumping between motos the next weekend in Spokane, WA and jumped off the tour for a month. He came back on to the tour in Salt Lake, raced on GT for awhile, and moved to Skyway near the end of the season - presumably to make way for GH's salary.

My Clavenism of the day.

I don't remember him being in Amarillo (Supernationals?) but I do remember hanging out in the Skyway motorcoach with him in Elkhart.

Come to think of it, I did have bad hair!!!

After Bob left Skyway and went to CW, he grew out a mean mullet.

I'm trying to start my own museum.

I don't remember Andy making the Amarillo race either - the GT split up in TX I think, I went to OK with a teammate - Skyway and JMC were there. Andy was flying in and out, we were in the van with Rudy - so he may have split after SLC. I got off the tour too after a week in OK - too much racing, you never think you'd get tired of racing 3 times a day - but it's true, you do.
