on sunday, my neighbor asked me to fix his son's roadmaster dept store bike. so as i'm fixing it, he says he want's an old beach cruiser for himself. i said i have one and i'll trade you for that bike on the side of your house. he said "oh, the pewgot?" i said yeah. so he agreed and told me the back wheel was messed up. i told him i'd have it fixed. so we exchanged bikes and yesterday i took the back wheel to the LBS and had a spoke replaced and the wheel trued for fifteen bucks. the cruiser i gave him was given to me by another neighbor. so here it is..(not the actual bike, but same model and color) 1986 peugeot...

He gave you a CF10? That is a Vitus Made Carbon fiber frame. Sweet bike. Your size even?

rick, i think i have a different model because it doesn't have the chrome head tube/rear triangle.it's a lugged frame, same brown color and mine has campy rims on it. i'll have to double check it when i get home.

ok, here's what i got...the serial number is B404 53462 the top tube says hand brazed. the dust cover on the cranks has an -S- on top and france on the bottom. also has shimano quick release hubs.

"S" for Simplex crank, normal for a French bike. Since it says it's hand brazed then it's not a CF 10 which was "screwed and glued" Now I'm curious which model it is.

i checked www.retro-peugeot.com and it says the second digit or first number determines the year. so it starting with B4 makes it an '84. i looked at a lot of the different models on there but still can't pin it down. thanks for taking an interest rick. bottom feeders unite!
