Anyone have regrets on not picking up a bike when they had the chance? I remember that the local shop that I rode for had a candy red Gary Littlejohn 20 inch tandem for sale. It must of sat in the window for 5 years and no one ever scooped it up. It sat there so long that sun turned it from red to pink. Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda.

I had a chance to get both of my original BMX bikes from the kid's father who I sold them to. At the time, I knew nothing about this community. I only took one back...I wish I would have gotten both...I'm sure it just ended up in a scrap heap. If I only knew!

Without a doubt VDC. There was a shop that had a Changa and Gorilla F/F and bars as late as 1991.

Polished aluminum Floval Flyer looptail. I remember the car ride home from the shop and saying anything I could to try and convince my mom I NEEDED that bike. Didn't work.
Not really vintage, but I came "this close" to ordering an S&M in 1989.

the mid '80s, when i started to actively collect, there were a few things that ended up eluding me moreso than i passed on them...
there was a shop in the area that had a bunch of "older" race frames and misc parts that they couldn't move 'cuz freestyle had taken over. i was cool with the owner and worked out a little deal on a bunch of it. i was gonna buy a bunch of detemined stuff over a period of time, as i had money. some i did get, but then one day i go there to buy some more, and...he's GONE!

empty building. just up and moved away.

My bike got stolen back in 82. A guy at the track had a Quad for sale, 401's, graphite Tuffs, etc... $250! I didn't have the money for it, but my friend Ritchie's mom offered to buy it for me & let me pay her back. I didn't because I knew my parents would KILL me for letting her do that. I ended up buying a beat up DB for $100. Hindsight....
