So, are these rare?
I know very little about the Redline MX years and products...
anybody here got one? (or had one?)

it just looks like a redline MX frame - just an upgrade from a stock frame. Not sure of the year probably late 70's or 80's model it says the mounts have been cut out so, so any MX motor could be used. I'm not to familiar with the MX side I know there's a few flattrack Redline frames being used in the Carlos Man stable.

What years did they they make 'em?

To my best knowledge, the early 70's till the late 70's. Somewhere there is an interview with Linn Kastan where he states they were going ot start providing custom stuff for one of the Japanese manufacturers team riders int eh late 70's (Yamaha or Suzuki I think), but they never heard back from the manufacturer. Later the letter informing them that they were chosen to do the work was discovered when Redline moved their offices. Kastan said that would have possibly changed everything since it would have been a huge contract.

if you look on Redline's history on the site, they made a XR-75 frame and swingarm. don't know if they made anything else.
