many different questions to ask here as there were many models. The serial number wiil not give you any data on the year (I used to think otherwise) but unless we get a look at it, we really can't help

get a pic, we'll get you the info. Prolly an 82, LOL Don't flame me HAYS

Nah...no flaming. I was thinking '82 from the parts on it. Sugino Maxicross cranks, KKT Lightning pedals, Race Inc. bars, Xcaliber seat post clamp, etc.
The frame is unpainted (maybe paint was stripped) and the has curved downtube at BB shell. Also has a cro-mo fork with leading axle dropouts. He is trying to get setup here so I am sure there will be pics pretty soon.

Seek out Brian Hays, that guy is pretty much the authority on all of Bill Bastian's creations.

Jdub, Pep was talking to me. He thinks all Race Inc's are 1982 smile.gif

Seriously though, sounds like a Race Inc RA7 since it has the curved down tube. RA7 was Race Inc's "pro" frame from 1976 till 1982. Post detailed pix and we can get a closer year span for ya. As Pep said, the Race Inc serial numbers mean nothing other than the RA is alloy and the RM is chromoly.

Thanks for the replies. I have been out of town so haven't been on the site in a while, but here are some pics of the bike.

Race Inc RA7 with Race Inc leading edge forks. Throw the seat away and leave the rest AS IS. VERY COOL SURVIVOR!! Someone drilled the forks. Race Inc forks were never drilled.
