here is a few pics of my Robinson Amtrac I just dug out of my dads garage. It's not been ridden since 1995, and was ridden very little when it was rode. Looks like I'm going to have to replace the decals though, they got tore up a bit being moved around the garage over the years. But otherwise it's in great shape. Some tiny little spots all over it that looks like it's starting to rust so I'm going to polish it up maybe this weekend.

The parts I have for it so far to rebuild it are

Amtrac F&F ($230 new)
Robinson Pro bars (purchased new with the F&F) ($40 new)
Robinson Pad Set (also purchased with the F&F)($18 I think new)
GT Epoch head set ($30 IIRC)
GT 44t Sprocket (bought new in like 98, first attempt to put this back together, $35)
Robinson black CrMo 180mm one-piece crank

Pics,

And Dans Comp custom wheels. Not sure on the brand of parts they were built with but they cost like $250-300 back in the day. They are high flange hubs, and 48 spoke with a twist lace. I know they are not race rims or accurate to the bike, but they are what I ran for years back when. I ran them on my pro freestyle tour when I was doing flatland and street riding. They were my only rim set so I used them on the Robinson when I rode it too. So it's more a nostalgia to me than anything.

what I'm on a slow hunt for as for parts to put it back together are either a DK or GT stem, prefer a DK in either blue or red but will settle for silver. I always ran DK's back in the day. A GT or Robinson layback post, GT seat, GT or Robinson black seat post clamp, triple trap pedals (also ran em back when) pitbull brake caliper either black or silver, red or blue pitbull brake lever, red or blue grips (not sure what kind yet), and either red or blue tires, old skool tread. And gotta have the vans brake shoes sarcastic.gif those are just cool.

Amtracs are too cool. I love the twisted spokes as well. They compliment the mid-school era so well.

I was just about to post that they were Suzue sealed hubs and Araya rims. I been polishing them and found the stampings.

Thanks for comments yall. I'll post pics as I get more done. But it'll be a long process since funds are short ATM since the wife and I are trying to buy a house.

It was a post of yours about your Amtrac that led me to this place. I had been searching online for a while for others with them and info on them when I came across it. happy.gif

Thanks for the offer of help, but I'll think I'll be ok with it. I've torn down and rebuilt so many bikes in my life there ain't no way I could count them. sarcastic.gif

All I can remember ATM is 0493 at the begining. I'll have to look at the rest tonight after I get home.

could any of you guys who have the original Amtrac decal on the top tube do me a huge favor? Get a close up high res image of the decal level straight on from the side and email it to me? I plan to find someone to reproduce them since I took mine off years ago (stupid mistake). and who ever helps he with it, if I find someone to do it, I'll send some your way. Just PM me for contact info.

I just looked at my SN for the first time in some time, turns out its a 93, and only a few digits off from yours RobinsonAmtrac,

04934267A,

Same month, year, and only 5 frames ahead of yours in production. what are the odds.....
RobinsonAmtrac
no kiddin?! blink.gif That is actually pretty impressive. Heck being only 5 numbers apart they very well could have been built the same day, or one day after another. biggrin.gif
