I started lurking on here a couple of weeks ago looking for some old names I used to race with and to see if anything I had lying around was worth anything. After reading for hours and hours I'm hooked on BMX again after over 20 years away!!

Instead of throwing the old bikes on ebay, I'm now looking to put them back together and have that itch to race again.

Here's the first bike I pulled down from the attic. Not sure exactly what year it is. I think about 1988 or so? Stamped on the dropout is E258.

I bought the bike a couple of years after I quit racing and thought I was going to get going again. Getting into cars and having a steady girlfriend pretty much stopped that. I never raced it and barely rode it. I put on some steel 24" wheels and parts from my Hutch 20". IIRC, the cranks are profile 185mm, DK stem. I painted both flat black BITD. It has some MTB pedals on it. I have no idea where my old Hutch pedals went. sad.gif My brother rode the bike around town a little and that was it.

The paint is actually in really good condition with a few scratches and it needs to be cleaned up.

I wish I still had stuff like that in my attic.

Cool...a Cyclecraft cruiser thread! Nice bike. Here's mine. Not as cool as yours, but for five bucks, I'm not complaining!

Nice cyclecraft, and nice cranks those gen 2 profiles are bringing in a good bit on the auction site.

Very nice cyclecraft

Thanks. Back in the 80s, the cranks were scuffed and painted black. I don't know what it would cost to rechrome them.

I want to pick up a set of wheels and a new seat and I'll be ready to go.

Where is that Vector MKIII I sold you Nutz?

I rode a couple CC cruisers in the 80s and liked them. In fact, I just sold one in the past few weeks to clear room and $$ for another project.

You have a great survivor there and it is 10X cooler because it is YOUR old bike.

I've got a CC cruiser as well. Never knew what year it was and I had bought it when I got back into racing around 1994/5 or so. It's the light blue, pink and yellow bubble gum paint scheme. Bikes sitting in my closet at my parents house.

can anyone here provide some specs on the frame I posted the pics of? Seat angle, head tube angle, year made? The dropout has E258 stamped on it.

It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin

Never got to ride one from bitd . The new ones will look alot like the old ones . Capped tubes and thicker drop outs are the only changes I've heard about .
