Hey Everyone,
I have lurked on Vintage and OS and some other sites for a long time and have posted pretty regular
over at BMX Museum...So some of you may recognize me from there... I have asked my self for some time when I was gonna make the plunge and join up here... I am from the Twin Cities and started riding BMX at the ripe old age of 4 in 1979... I started out jumping curbs and home made jumps and then started getting into dirt jumping and raced here and there until the mid 80's when Freestyle took over in a big way!

We had a great local scene in the Twin Cities and I grew up watching and learning from some great riders like Dale Matson (who is still a great friend to this day) Krt Schmidt, Marty S. and the list goes on... There were many others too! When you think about it there were some awesome riders who emerged out of the frozen north where you had to ride in basements and parking garages for 6 months out of the year... I recently made it out to the 2008 Minnesota Faction BBQ and had a great time hanging with a great bunch of guys and checking out some sweet OS rides... Thanks guys it was a lot of fun!

It's cool to see this common thread of MN racing/street thrashing/dirt jumping/freestyle and hear everyones story.
Not to threadjack, but Travis, your mission is to find Rob Stieger and bring him (and his white RL20II) to the next Faction gathering.
I'll scan that contact sheet of pics I shot in the fall of 93 in Fargo... I wonder who those guys were in those frames...

Ja, shoot. I grew up in the middle of ND, not knowing anybody. At this point, I live in Moorhead, so I do technically live in MN. Then again, you can take the ND out of the boy....

Yes I did! Thanks again--I'm going to be sticking it on my OS flat rider when I get it finished. BITD, my old Kuwahara was absolutely covered in griptape.
