allright guys, i'm going to post this here basically because i believe there are probably more knowledgeable hutch fanatics hanging in this section. i'm looking for some info on this frameset, i've done a lot of research already and just want to see if i'm on the right track. i believe this is a hutch/hutchins judge 2 XL 1989 or 1990. yeah i know it does'nt fall into old school but like i said its a hutch and this is where the expertise lies. from what i have read i believe this frame was made for one year either 89 or 90. here are the facts on the frame.

the TT length is 20.25"
no hutch logo stamped on brake bridge
no serial#
rear dropouts are thicker than older hutch frames
the rear of the TT where it joins the seat tube is slightly ovalized but not as much as other judges
has the gussett at the chainstays
it is the original color and finish
it has a white and chrome original decal on the seat tube " made in usa "
the welds are really nice and clean too

those are all similarities i found with this frame and the judge 2

the things that stump me are the seatstays seem to be slightly higher than other pics i have seen and the top tube is not as ovalized and does not sit higher than the seatstays as i mentioned earlier. the downtube where it meets the headtube wraps around quite a bit where it is welded too. i'm not sure if these details are specific to the XL version versus the regular pro size version?

the fork is a bottema, looks to be an original hutch seat clamp and i'm not sure of the bars. but my main focus is the frame. from what i have found i believe the judge 2 was the only model that came in an xl option so thats what leads me to believe thats what it is along with the other similarities. here are some pics so let me know what you think.

Its a Judge 2

i agree.

i have several and was also a Hutchins dealer. they had so many slight variations in a short period of time. of the 3 i currently have, all were ordered by myself, direct from Hutchins. they are all slightly different (2 of them were even ordered together).

thanks for the info and reassuring me of what i thought. i knew there were a lot of variations and running changes but just wanted to be positive. i know some of the early versions used the older hutch decals and the lattter used the hutchins decals. how would you guys dress it up? anyone have any pics of theirs?
