While sorting out my storage area, I had chance to line up some of my GHP's. I dont usually like to post pics like this, but thought it impressive enough to do so.

On the far left is a Trix, and then a Pro 1. All the rest are either 83 pr 84 pro's or pro long's. Hope you guys like them.

I'll try to do the 85's - thats quite impressive as well.

I've only got 2 cruisers and 4 red 84's - not as impressive.
subwax
Oh - those stickers are all original, as are the framessets. I didnt include the frames I have had restored.

Total huh? Damn, let me think.

I have got 4 in the US at the moment.

At home, I have got the frames pictured. Chrome 84's number another 3. Painted 84's are 3 reds and an orange.

i have about 7 or 8 85's "Pro 1"'s and only 1 "Pro 2". There are 3 Trix's and 2 Cruisers too.

I'a always on the lookout for a Pro 2, if anyone has any.

Thats about it on the GHP front.

Hey Subwax,

I think you bought my '84 JMC Darrell Young (Red with cracked downtube at headtube weld) off of eBay a couple years back. Am I correct? If I am do you have any photos of it all restored?
subwax
I think I did buy it, yes. Was that the one that didnt have "cracked downtube" in the auction details?

UH OH!!!!! ohmy.gif
subwax
I dont want to start falsely accusing, but I did buy a red DY off of Ebay, that did not have any mention of the cracked downtube. When it arrived, I was very surprised (!!!) to see the crack.

It appears he knew about the crack and remembered to mention it now?

Oh how I love the Maple Leaf!

Neil, did you remember the ones at my place?
subwax
Hi Bret,

Yes, i have remembered those ones. You've got 2 83's and an 85, if I remember correctly.

GR8BNDINI
Neil your the man! Only cat I know that has a collection all over the world.
olsskooldw
Wait a sec Subwax. My DY specifically said there was a crack in the downtube and I had a close-up pic of the actual crack. I also sold the forks, stem and bars with it. The feedback I got was good so maybe it wasn't you. I also sold some 80's Redline flights, maybe that was you?
olsskooldw
Here it is, I looked up my eBay feedback:

Super fast shipping. Item as listed Thank you A+ seller

Like I said - I might be wrong, and if I am, I apologise, but I distictly remember receiving a red DY with a crack right round the downtube that I was not aware of. The frame was sent to Rod Miles, so I didnt actually see the frame physically. I just left good feedback as Rod said he had received it - it was only upon closer inspection that the damage not listed in the auction was found.

Anyways - regardless of that, here's a link to the repair story:

DY repair

You'll notice reference to the lack of explanation of the damage on the auction here too. As stated before, if this is not your frame, then accept my apologies. I do however think it is, as its the only red one I have bought.
AndyDiamond
Forget the DYs where are the GHPs???

Subwax, in my mind only two possibilities exist:

1. You bought my flights and not the DY (I can't tell what item the feedback is for)
2. You don't remember the eBay ad correctly (I DEFINITELY mentioned the crack in mine in the ad, in the first sentence I believe, and included a close-up pic of the crack itself)

That DY was my own ride and my pride and joy in the 80's. I am not a regular eBay user and thought someone might like to pick up my damaged DY and bring it back to it's former glory and that's how I represented it in the ad. Do you have the serial number? I still have what looks like DY84151 or maybe 161. I certainly don't want to be represented as a scam artist.
olsskooldw
OK, I managed to find the description from the eBay ad via my PayPal history:

"This is the #1 Old School collectors bike. It has been raced and shows it's age. Paint is flaking in several areas. there is some oxidization on the handlebars, and the frame IS CRACKED near the weld where the bottom tube meets the head tube (see photos, sorry the crack is slightly out of focus). It's still a beautiful bike and some master welding and re-paint/chrome will make this the envy of any Old-Schooler. Serial # is DY84151. Included are the headset, stem. seatpost and brakes (brakes are original 1985 issue Dia-Compe, stem is a 1985 ESP extra long with a replaced top section from a newer Diamond back stem. The original top plate snapped from over-tightening). The seatpost is a 12inch BOSS Cro-mo. RESERVE REMOVED. "

Subwax, I believe you're a super cool nice guy, but don't go accusing people of false advertising when clearly you have forgotten what the ad said in the first place. I'm sure you wouldn't like it either. drinks.gif
subwax
First of all - is this your frame? Do you recognise the crack?
subwax
This thread isnt meant to have a pop at you, wasnt meant like that at all. We will agree to differ as to the auction description, however that was 2 years ago now. The frame has since been repaired and is one of my favourite DY's.
subwax
I got the ESP stem repaired as well - that looks well cool.
olsskooldw
Subwax as long as we're cool that's ok with me. BTW, I have 2 new 2008 GHP's perhaps I'll be selling you a cracked one in 20 years wink.gif
subwax
As long as you describe it well
