I sold my Andy Patterson to a neighborhood kid in South Pasadena California in 1986. I would like to know what happened to it and who's collection it is in. Anyone ever track their stuff down successfully?
mrraceinc
I ended up buying my Patterson back off Craigs list that was stolen when I was 17. It was only about 4 miles from where it was stolen from 17 years before.

I lost my Free Agent that I had, I think it was an '85 or '86. I left it with a roommate in Kalamazoo Michigan, he told me that he would keep my stuff for me when I moved to Grand Rapids..........called him a couple of years ago to pick it up............GONE My plan was to give it to my kids some day, I've even put ads on Craigslist and watch Ebay.......nothing. My fault for not dragging it with me, but he either sold it, gave it away, or trashed it. Any of you KZOO BMXers come across it.............$$$$$$ reward

I tracked down my Scrambler, the guys dad threw it out.
I tracked down my Supergoose, the guys dad threw it out.
I tracked down my Redline, the guys dad threw it out.
I tracked down my Hutch, the guys dad threw it out.
I tracked down down my JMC AP56, the guys did not throw it out. The guy led me to it, let me sit on it. He asked if I wanted it back. I said yes and he said, "just kidding I would never get rid of this bike, only fool would". I can't blame him, I guess he loved it as much as I did.

Let a good friend's son use a cruiser that my son had outgrown. It was stolen from the kids' house. Turned up at our local track 2 years later with a kid that doesn't even ride. Of course all of our Profile stuff was taken off of it and real generic stuff put on it. Not as good as some of the other stories but it was pretty ironic that it ended up where it did by a non-rider!!! sarcastic.gif

Yup.

I just got it back from my friend. I sold him the F/F 20 years ago when we were in high school.

Then, in MY final incarnation...

Now, as HIS final incarnation...

It will see new life soon as my son's daily rider.
mr coasterbrake
sort of.

last year a long lost friend turned up to get some help with a restoration. turns out he has an old frame of mine that he bought 4th, 5th...10th(?) hand.

and, i had a guy come into the shop a year or so ago who sold me his son's old Haro. turned out that i had originally sold them the bike new when i worked at a different shop BITD.

I'm getting REAL close to getting my old CW back.
The kid I sold it to BITD just got rid of it last summer(still had all my old parts on it ohmy.gif
and he is trying to help locate the dude he sold it to.

I didn't so much as track it down as it sort of fell into my lap. About 5 years before I actually got back into VBMX...my parent's neighbor, who I sold it to years earlier was selling it in a garage sale. He actually gave it back to me for free. I got my pre-serial Hutch Pro Racer but left my 1st year DB Silver Streak. If I only knew...

Found a friends PK Ripper about 2 years and 30 miles from where it was stolen. The jackass cracked the seat mast above the top tube. My buddy didn't want it back (he moved on to cars) so I kept it.

My ProLine was recovered by my brother who was working at a Texaco gas station. Of course, everything was missing accept the fram, forks and cranks but the morons couldn't get the cranks off (crank puller anyone?) and beat the crap out of the left arm. I was sad

I sold my last Freestyle bike to a co sponsor of ours when I got sponsored by Raleigh. Up until 2005 for 7 years I had been trying to find this person and One day ran into him at a hardware store. I asked about the bike and sure enough he called back, still had it and lived 4 miles away. I bought the bike back from him and realized my wheels were not the ones with freecoaster I remember. I called a local used bike dealer friend of mine and tried to explain to him about what a freecoaster hub looked like. He said he'd check his piles. He called me 2 days later on my way home and told me to come over now. I showed up in his driveway and he was holding a pair of wheels. I just about lost it. MY old wheels. He said I sold them to him in 1987 and he could never sell them cause they were coaster brake. I showed him how you switch to freewheel and he laughed and said , well I guess it was a good thing he did not know. NOTHING can top getting this bike back.
Me in late 1986 1987 Haro Team Sport:

Bike now. No replate. I had originally stripped the Teal paint so I restored back to how I had it last. Even original ft peg was there. I had sold the flight cranks prior before selling bike:
