One of the most stylish little dudes that ever rocked a JMC has joined our midst.

It's funny, because in my photos of the Grands, I used his name as a style reference in one of the captions:

I cannot wait till we get to hear from Jason. one of the famously fast (Jason's) of the 80's! I posted yesterday how I wanted to know what happened to Jason Jensen. I'd like to get the same info on Jason Wharton. He too, was an Idol of mine when I started racing. He really tore up the track when he was with JMC. You cant even imagine what was going on inside my head when I put my bike up on the starting gate in my 1st Moto, at my 1st National, after becoming a Factory rider. I had Jason Jensen right next to me in lane 6. On the other side of him was Jason Wharton in lane 7 wearing the ever so intimidating Silver & Black!! Needless to say, I didnt transfer in the 1st OR 2nd Moto. Wharton won the 1st, Jensen the 2nd. Man, was I a lucky kid! To be part of what was going on in the early 80's, WOW!

Here's Jason and Doug Davis at the 1982 Saint Paul Minnesota Rondo Classic. The DB team was sitting behind us the whole event and as Harry Leary has stated that these guys were top notch on the track and pretty good kids off the track too! Jason remember when Harry and Eddy King were jumping the rental car with you guys in the back...good times huh???

Welcome aboard Jason!

I have always assoiciated Jason with Diamond Back and the fearsome team they had circa 1982 and part of the reason I bought a Diamond Back that year. I remember the wooden wheels ad too. Welcome aboard Jason!!

The wooden wheel ad , Harry rode for JMC in that shot . The 82 DB team was the best ever .

Somewhere in my stuff, I have a press release, written by Howard Wharton
about Jason leaving JMC and moving on to Diamond Back. Pretty positive it's late 1981 or 1982.
I have no idea how I got it. It's actually typed on type writer.

I remember Jason Wharton racing for Diamond Back in 1982 at the Las Vegas, Jag World Championships.
I remember him on JMC as well.

Grand Prix visors.........
Wasn't that Jason's dad, Howard Wharton's little BMX company?
I remember Jason Wharton, Bart McDaniels, Rich Farside, and Eddy King running those visors.
