Picking up a new "The Take" 20" street BMX bike this week...first time riding in years (will turn 34 in november). Wondering if anyone is close by! Posted up on bmx-forum also but the majority there still live with their parents I think....not appealing to a married father of one!

I'm from Wantagh, NY and ride all the time with my son at Wantagh Park. We also go to Oil City in your neck of woods, Oceanside. I'm 39 with two kids so I can relate. I'm going to take my son to NYC on 8/16 to ride. The streets are closed to cars from 7am to 1pm beginning from the Brooklyn Br.

Ah, the blue plastic benches of Wantagh park! I grew up in Seaford so that and Cedar Creek Park roller skating rink were my stomping grounds. I'll PM you some info; my son is still a little guy learning at age 7 but this old man is ready for some smith grinds!!!

how is it at oil City? I know they have a BMX night that runs late so I'm wondering what the crowd is like over there. I should just go and stop caring about the age factor!

my son is 7 too and races at shoreham. you should get your little guy out there. I've only taken my son to Oil City to skate. Im told that the BMX sessions are not for the little guys mostly teenagers. I ride, but can't get too crazy because of a neck injury. PM me.
