After about 6 years of searching all my old paper work and reciepts, I finally found my owner's card from the last new bike I purchased from the '80's. 1985 Haro Master #85097719 in white. I restored and owned 100's of these in the last few years and may have had this one pass through my shop without knowing it was my original. Several people have sent me serial #'s over the years to lookout for, now I can finally add my own to the list. If anyone reading has this frame, please let me know.

Just checked the white one I bought from you Chip and it is 85098790. Well guessing the first three numbers as I can only see the last five. Close, but not close enough. Good luck.

Just found #85097695, a mere 24 bikes away!
It's Neon Green though. Maybe they started making the white version at #.....700?

Is there any way to decipher from these SN's how many Masters were made in '85? I find this interesting.. there couldn't have been more than a thousand, that I would guess.

The last 4 numbers are what the production was. Take Chip's for example it is the 7719th Master/Sport made in '85. I would guess that Haro used the same dropouts on both models of bikes since the serial #s were stamped prior to welding them up.

Wow... that is a LOT more than I thought! I find this extremely interesting. I'd love to know how many say... 87s or 88s were made, at the "peak" of freestyle.

I wouldn't mind owning #85097695 if it's for sale at a reasonable price.

I think if we knew how many Haros were being sold in 85 through 86 we would all be shocked. This was the pinnacle of production for probably all bmx companies in that era. Especially the good ones.

7695 needs a little help! Nothing that would scare you away though.
Almost 100% complete survivor purchased from original owner. The Tuffs are unstamped first generation, I think, not era correct anyway. Still has one skinwall panaracer tire! Needs powder, decals and polish. Not sure yet if it's going up for sale. Thinking about a restore.
