a friend of mine has an old Schwinn Sting with 5 inch head tube. the forks look like Bottema forks
having the longer tube length under the drop outs. did they make such a fork?

Yes, Bottema forks came with a 5 inch steer tube, I used them on my Pro-Line and my Sting.
COASTY
Sure did. Jeff Watson used them on his Proline too.
I can't imagine there would be a lot of them around.

Same here, a Bottema Bullet M1 on a '79 Schwinn Sting with a 5" headtube, was going to build this one up and race it out at Orange Y with Graphites just to raz all the collectors off, unfortunately no time for projects at the moment. Would be hard to find another pair like these..They are '79 M1's and '79 C1 26" forks (Jeff Bottemas personal race forks).
