Just picked up the latest issue of BMX World and our boy Johnny Johnson has as many pictures (old school) as Olympic star Mike Day. Good job!
That magazine is wall to wall racing, kind of crazy.
Besides Johnny, a few interesting things about the issue you MAY like are-
Gork did pics and some reporting on one of the races. In one pic he compares a kid to Chicken George...The intro to that story is a picture of a kid named Nic something (maybe Long? I don't have the book in front of me) and says how he is in the running to be the next ABA number 1 amateur then names former #1s like Richie Anderson, Mike King, Eric Carter and a bunch of other old schoolers...pics of John Purse in action on his GHP, Jason Carnes...
good issue.

Hey thanks a lot!
I'm suprised to see those pics of me in the new BMX World.
For some laughs one day, I emailed a few sets of early 80's BMX photos to some friends on my email list.
Then Leasure told me the publisher of BMX World saw them, liked them, and wanted to publish a few.
Wow! Really? Cool! Thank you BMX World!!!!
If you look at the gate photo,
look to the very far left. There's an SE rider.
That's Scott Mitchell, the current owner of Gun Slinger Bicycles www.gunslingerbicycles.com
Also in the gate photo, the guy in yellow and white, John Eugrob.
He was sponsored by Gruenert Design Racing.
That was the team Shawn Texas was on just before he became a famous BMX racer.
Of course you see the photo of Mike King, the coach of the U.S. Olympic BMX team
jumping with me (center) and Jimmy Taylor (left).
Funny cause back in the day,
I got two shots of me in the background in BMX Plus, 1980 at Saddleback.
Waaaaaaaayyyyy in the background!
Then there's the 1978 NBA Grands coverage in BMX Action.
There's a shot of first (Roy David, Nor Cal) and second place rider in my moto.
I was in third, but you could only see the two leaders.
LOL!

I'm telling ya....it's a sign that the world is coming to an end!
Good for ya JJ! Cool shots, and three pages consecutively even! Or would that be odd?
Well, either way, nice to see some more history in the pages of BMX World!
