Have you found a RARE or PERFECT BMX part in your basement, attic, from a garage sale, at your stupid friends house who knows nothing about the value of the part they had. Or you found, bought, traded, stole or killed someone for. Let us know..... ALL the details of your parts find....... And where you found them.......

When you refer to all of them as treasures, what treasures do you have?

Being sponsored by Race Inc in 1984 also included a co sponsorship by ACS. They gave me a set of sealed bearing hubs that were polished silver high flange types. I thought they were junk at the time so I gave them to one of my buddies. A few months back my buddy calls, says he is cleaning up some junk in his garage and he found those hubs, asked if I wanted them. I gladly obliged and now, after about 25 years of storage they are back in my hands, brand new never laced.

1983 schwinn predators...2 of them, Both complete, identical bikes.
They were sitting on the side of the road at the local recycle center/scrap yard. I asked the old caretaker of the property how much he wanted for them, He said, "go ahead and take them"
They both had the yellow/green/black decals, and the ovalized forks(with the flat front and back)...they both had some rust on the frames and forks. I kept the one that had flawless decals, and the least amount of rust, and gave the other one to my Bro-In-Law (his uncle ownes the local bike shop that used to sell Schwinn).
Well, after I replaced the tires, brake-cable, brake pads, grips, and cleaned it up like new...the place I was living got broken into, and it was stolen along with my TV, my Titan, my Hutch Pro-Raider, and a clutch full of jewelery that was given to me by my grandmother(that she brought back from Italy and Croatia).
I haven't owned a vintage bike since. And I probably never will until I find a CW pro-Motion.

Last year I was driving down the road when I saw a bike resting on top of a 30 yard dumpster with a free sign. I grabbed it because it had nice components, stripped the stuff of the frame and put it in the garage, I didn't even notice that it was an old 81-83 Robinson because someone had taken a spray can to it and coated it in black. Aboutl 2 months ago when I found a mid 90's robinson rebel on the side of the road and it reminded me of the 80's robinson frames with the R at the front of the frames. I have been able to clean the paint of the old frame with a magic eraser, it even took the paint of the stickers with out wrecking them. I just need wheels and brakes when I finish cleaning it. The rebel is needs brakes & tires.

I got these over the summer. Was standing in Richmond Indiana on the 3rd turn flagging during the state qualifier. My phone rings and its a 20 year old kid that I used to work with a few years ago. He tells me his buddy has some old school parts he wants to get rid of. I kinda hedge until he says the name Clemtwin. This is what he had plus a bunch of other old parts too. Story is that the kid bought out the guy that bought out Ft Wayne Bike (Clemtwin inventor) back in the day. He bought this stuff when he was about 12 and kept it until I hauled it away. The kid knew the sentimental value of oldschool BMX parts and wanted it to go to someone that would enjoy it instead of scraping it at the metal yard. Smart kid.

Rich, Good purchase. I wish i still had my GT pro series with Klemtwin cranks and black z- rims. I actually bought the bike from Vic klem. At Ft. Wayne bikes on South Anthony. I paid cash and that bike cost me $260 at the time used. in 1982. I still think about that bike. Roger...............

Picked up a Specialized Fat Boy 24 a few years back for $60 at a garage sale. I'm not sure what year but it has GT show cranks and i liked the bars since they reminded me of Boss bars. Its a tad on the small size for me but its fun to ride.
