I raced at both north and south park, from the day that they both opened for business (thank you Bob Tedesco, you deserve your place at the NBL!) until I was out of school in '81. My last race was at north park, that was closer so it was my home track, really. I did a few nationals during those years all over at indiana, kentucky,n.y.,including before south park opened at north park. Who remembers winter racing at schoonamaker hall indoorsat south park? You used to have to have more skill to do those flat corners back then, and they were my favorite place to pull a pass! My son races at south park now, so we have a second generation going, and I ask that all you old schoolers at least expose your kids to bmx as an alternative to ball sports, and ask if they want to do it! Mine is like a fish to water, already going to nationals, etc. I will end now,but I have many memories and a few precious pics to remind me of those days.

Jetman,

What class did you race? I stopped in '80 and finished in 16upx. Maybe we shared a gate BITD. I also raced indoors at SP and rode for Wheels Unlimited. I just got a cruiser and I'm going to start riding SP again. I don't have many pictures left either. Later...

A quick link to a great North Park thread, theres a pic of the indoor track as well, some really great photos. Dremel- you mention you rode for wheels unlimited..my first real bmx bike had a wheels unlimited head tube badge, it was a 'bonzai' something, if I remember correctly it may have been aluminum, really nice purple metal flake, would love to find one to restore...
