Guys,
I was the one who sold Brian all of those parts. There is a story behind the Vectors, but it is not very interesting.
Back in 1984, a little bike shop in Raleigh, NC called "Coastal Bike Supply" was heavy into BMX, but heard of this new sport called "Freestyling". It just happens my brother and his friend showed the owner some of their moves (which was not much at the time), and he decided to bring them on as the "Coastal Trick Team". Here they are practicing....

At the time, white bikes were all the fad. Coastal owner decided to mix it up a bit. He thought, well, nobody is doing YELLOW. Let's do yellow so we can stand out. Sure enough, the dueling Vectors were built with a Heavy Yellow theme. One had metal flange (the only kind at the time) Skyway mags, while the other had yellow Z-rims.
My brother and his friend only did about 3 shows before Coastal owner decided he was in financial trouble. One show, specifically, was alongside the Hutch Trick team in Burlington, NC (Woody and Tim Judge). This video is on Youtube.
The yellow Vectors (always ugly to me) were put away in storage, mainly b/c they were heavy and who wanted to ride a bike nobody had heard of? We continued for years riding our Kuwahara's, Haro's and GT's. Yep, that was my '87 Haro Sport in the pictures as well.
Speaking of Brian, I'd like to personally thank him and Jeff S for their patience over the past year and a half. I kept these bikes in the hopes of finding someone who would use them as a showcase, not a way to make a buck on Ebay. Precisely why I didn't offer them on Ebay. I think the bikes are at a good home and I can't wait to see them back in working order.
Thanks again, and Brian may have more surprises yet to come!
