I grew up in Minot in the 80s and remember very fondly the huge bmx selection they had at the old Scheels there. And seeing the Haro, Hutch, GT, etc...teams visit every summer and do shows in the Scheels parking lots.

And racing at the BMX track to stay in shape for hockey. Racing around Oak Park and Girl Scout Island....

Anyone else from Minot or still live there?

I moved to Minneapolis in the late 80s when my father relocated for his job and haven't been back for over 15 years since the death of my grandfather.

Me and the wife are going to pay a visit there in a few weeks and wanted to see if any of the above is still around...

im not from Minot, but growing up I raced there in 1980. I believe it was out at a Ski Slope, (Apple Valey) maybe? The start was up on the ski slope, BOY were you moving by the time you got to the 1st turn. also grew up with some kids that were from there, they were re-stationed in Enid ok, Air Force base. I know I didnt really answer ur question, but i had to respond as it brought back alot of fun memories!!

I spent the first four years of my life in Minot, 1974-1978. I couldn't tell you about the bmx scene, but I was definitely the fastest kid on my block riding a big wheel!
