My buddy pulled this bike out of his Dad's garage the other day and asked if I would help him restore it. Me being the bike freak I am, I said "Of course!". I only have 8 other bike projects, what's another one, right??? The history on this thing is his Dad bought two of these MX II's for John and his brother brand new from the bike shop in 1978-9. I haven't seen many yellow ones so I figured someone on the site might be able to provide some additional info. The bike came with Tuff II's, a Mongoose stem, and Tange forks. I've always been a 3-piece crank guy so I am clueless when it comes to the right cranks for this bike. Any help would be much appreciated. I've already found some Redline forks and V-bars and I plan on cleaning up the stem and wheels. Just need to source the cranks, pedals, and seat and we should be good to go. More pics to come as the project progresses. ~Brian

I don't think it was yellow. looks like the decals faded and created the yellow. Looks like it was white.

you need decals go to BMXSTOP.com. (over to the right >>>>>)
perfect reproductions authorized by REDLINE.

I'm actually building one for my son and just need to put her together and he needs to grow a little more before he can ride it. ; )

I'm pretty sure you could get them in yellow, plus it's the original owner so I'm sure he remembers the original color. I'd remove the cranks and see if they're marked inside (spindle area) if you're dead set on replacing them with the original correct part. I'd just throw some Sugino's on there myself.

I'm looking for one of these in rough shape to redo myself.

I can see where the flash makes it look white in the photo, but it is definitely yellow from the factory.
