I drove by and saw this in the pile headed for the scrap yard a couple years ago and rescued it. It appears original except the grips and seat and it was missing the rear Tuf I. I have the Mongoose stamped seat post but it's off. The serial number on the bottom bracket is E116983. Who can help?

1983 Supergoose

If you don't know what you are talking about don't give out the info.

It's an `81, and probably not a Supergoose. Does it have three holes in the rear brake bridge?

Ditto to Motor City... May 81. First year the rear drop-outs changed. Nice find.

It has three holes in the brake bridge, two are ovals on either side and a round one in the center. The decals say Supergoose and they look original. I'll check out vintagemongoose and see what I come up with.

Pardon me for the typo as I do know Mongeese.

My fault for not knowing the year in the first place.

Thanks for the help guys. This thing isn't in bad shape, but the fork drop out is cracked on one side near the bolt hole. Is the finish on this frame chrome? I know some were polished nickel, but this one looks like chrome to me. Anyone know? I'm trying to figure out how to clean this thing up. Does anyone have a rear wheel for this they want to get rid of?
