Checked out a sponsor on here Colored Tuffs and was wondering if I should bother scrubbing the heck out of my Tuff II's or just buy a set from them. Mine have a coaster brake that I want to ditch anyway.

Thoughts?

I haven't seen a set of tuffs yet that couldn't be brought back to new looking.
(aside from cracks or real damage)
There are a few threads here about ways to do that.

On the other hand, if you don't want a c/b anyway, there's always someone
looking for those pairs. The money could go towards new ones.

Hey KchesterZ - I'd get them blasted!!! They turn out great!
Remember to use the finest grit...like glass bead or very fine sand.
Then when they're done, give them a good soaking in WD40!!!
Check out the photo from Waza007...the blue just comes alive!
Too easy Mate. Hope this helps...

Thanks guys. biggrin.gif

Volcano. I never would have thought about blasting. Looks great.

I'll search the forum again for tips. I think I recall something about using bleach and Comet or Bar Keepers Friend.

I'm assuming these cleaning techniques apply to all nylon-based wheels? Have a set of GT mags I need to clean up too.

Thanks again.

No probs mate...steel wool can also work (very labour intensive though).
I've blasted a few sets...they came out great!
Post some before & afters pics...love to see how you go with it!
Cheers
