I almost didn't build this one up...Thanks to Lou for the sweet paint on the f/f, stem, front brake, and post!
I know Dyno's aren't a favorite but to only a handfull of us but it is hard not to like this one.

85 serial on the dropout.

Before:

After:

I know some of the parts are not to spec...I may work on locating them and swaping out in the future.

I need a NOS right side dia compe tec 4 in white if anyone has one let me know.

I have the 85 Dyno folding fork stands in blue for it but I need some advice. They don't fit the fork and if I put them on and tighten it is going to jack the forks for sure....Do I A: drill out the standers to fit the forks, or B: leave them off or C: ?????
DYNO mite
DAMN fine looking DYNO...lol thats not the first Dyno Lou did in white...looks like he did a great job!!!! LOVE the Blue and White....Sweet Sweet Sweet.....Great job...Rob
Hudson
Ah thats friggin dope man...glad you built it up....

Very cool looking bike! That's crazy about the fork standers. You'd think the Dyno standers would fit the Dyno forks. I think I'd try messing with the standers until they fit OK. I think it'd look even cooler and be worth it. Just my opinion though. Hopefully someone else will see this and give you some advice on how to go about it though. I'm sure there's someone out there who has a Dyno with the fork standers on it.
Pauly
That's and insane build dude. Nice work. It's almost to 86 Compe II spec so I would go with GT triangle fork standers. I have a very similar build pending... maybe some day I'll get around to finishing it up.

Thanks everyone, this one is pretty sharp. The 85-6 Dyno's are super comfortable to me for some reason. I need to get the rear lever and cables, and would like to find a Drainpipe decal for the post. What do you guys think about blue Skyways or blue tires?
donvader
If you could find some blue mags like the ones you have and keep the white tires, that would be the coolest looking!!! Probably hard to come by though, but if you could find some, wooohooooo!!!, that would be awesome. I don't know if the Skyway blue mags would match the blue you're using though, but if you have some give it a shot, see what you think.
rcrscott29
The new style "light" blue Tuffs actually match the GT blue pretty well. Much closer than the regular blue whether the mags are old or new ones.
But that bike looks awesome the way it is right now. What would be the coolest actually, I think, would be if you could find some blue GT mags. I think either BrianP or SmokinEndo had some.... maybe you could talk em into making you a dealio.
And I personally would not risk damaging the forks to put on the fork stands even though i agree than any freestyle build needs stands or pegs of some sort. You could go with Skyway axle extenders.... I believe there are a couple of sets in a GT-ish blue like that on the Bay right now.

Beautiful build. I like the use of the blue bars/seatpost.

The simplicity and cleanliness is what makes it.

Dang.....I know I used to have a drain pipe sticker......LEt me see if I still have it.
oldschoolrider88
blue tires will set it off prefect....also blue valve stems.

Your Dyno is an awesome classic from the 80's era of freestyle bikes !

...but I can almost get it dirty for ya just by looking at how white it is though/

Man I would love to get ahold of blue GT Performer OGK mags for this one. I think I have only seen one set ever, if anyone has a set let me know.

I like Dynos! Yours is gorgeous!

Who says no one likes Dynos? To me the '85 D30 is one of the best handling/riding frames ever. BTW awsome Dyno!! I think I still have an '85 D30 in my basement...
Chevron Envy
Personally, I think that bike and it's monochromatic color scheme rocks!

I don't know that I liked the Dyno's handling that much, but I will agree that they were pretty cool bikes and was a little puzzled bu the caveat, "I know no one likes Dynos."

This goes back a long way...
It seems like whenever someone posted a thread with a dyno build someone would just have to say something like "I don't like dynos, but your's is kinda nice" or "that's a nice build... for a dyno".
There is also the opinion that Dynos are a poor man's GT.
Same factory, same tubing, same welders... different design is all.

Yeah, I knew they were from the same company, and that in more recent years, they probably have become a poor man's GT. But I think back in the 80s they were pretty comparably priced. That is, the low-end GT cost pretty much the same as the low-end Dyno, and the "Team Model" GTs and Dynos cost about (if not exactly) the same. Same qualify, same price -- It was just a matter of which frame design and handlebars you liked better.

Ha....Pauly's right..lol..nice poor mans gt bro..Could have had a gt... Just pickin ..it is a nice build and i have 2 too...

hahah, yeah you guys got it. I know there are alot of us that like the Dynos but thing I like most about them is they are not as common as the GTs. Same reason I rode them in the 80's. Thanks everyone for the comments.

I am having a really hard time with the seat guts on this seat. Anyone have have any tips? I have been able to flip most of my other seats but maybe it is this one is more narrow or something???
